The difference grace will make for you…. Grace.. It’s a word we all love to hear. But do we all know what it means? Without it, our lives are dry and dusty. But when grace comes, it transforms our lives into something rich and beautiful. With remarkable insight gleaned from his own life, Pastor Chuck Smith unfolds the mystery of grace and reveals the surprising truth: We can never grow in grace by our own efforts. True grace flows from the heart of the Father through the love of Jesus Christ. To know that God is for you, that He loves you, is the greatest source of security you will ever know.

Calvinism and Arminianism . . . since the Protestant Reformation in the 16th Century, Christian churches and leaders have disagreed over such issues as depravity, God s sovereignty, human responsibility, election, predestination, and eternal security, as well as the nature and the extent of the atonement of Jesus Christ. In the midst of this tumultuous debate, it is easy to ignore the plain statements of the Bible and to believe we have the ability to fully understand God’s ways. How tragic it is when we become more concerned with being “right” than being loving. Our desire at Calvary Chapel is to bring believers together in the love and unity of the Holy Spirit, focusing on our awesome God rather than on ourselves.

I am come as a light into the world, that whosoever believes in me should not abide in darkness. John 12:46There is no denying the fact that the claims of Christ are radical. Jesus statements concerning Himself present every person with a choice to be made. We must either accept or reject His claims. He was either telling the truth or He was lying.

Over the years, many people have asked Pastor Chuck about the success of Calvary Chapel. Many have tried to figure out the formula to church growth and a healthy congregation by studying Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa and the Senior Pastor where  he revealed that there is no secret formula to church growth – it is the line upon line, verse upon verse teaching of God’s Word that produces a healthy, mature congregation, which in turn produces church growth. Once we recognize the purpose of the church and the importance of God’s Word, we realize that it is not about us at all, but about God completely. “What, then, is the purpose of His church? To bring glory to God: to be God’s instrument of ministry to the Lord. Also, in a secondary sense, the church exists for the edifying or the building up of the saints and to bring the saints into full maturity, so that they might engage in the work of the ministry.” Pastor Chuck Smith
